In 1994 Bruce Springsteen released a song called 'The Streets of Philidelphia'. In the video Brucey (as his friends call him) can be seen walking the aforementioned streets of Philidelphia. He was walking erect. As in upright. This has no relation to the design of this tee shirt, but the Philadelphus erectus is named as such because it is very upright. Just like Bruce Springsteen in that pop video.
